Web accessibility gives people with disabilities such as vision impairment, hearing loss or injury the opportunity to experience and interact with your website. At Brook Isle, we’re committed to making our website a place for everyone by providing you with features to help make it accessible to everyone. Our website uses various technologies to enhance accessibility. We utilize an interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s user interface (UI) to suit their personal needs.

Here are some of the interface’s capabilities:

Font handling - users can increase and decrease its size, change its font family (type), adjust spacing, alignment, line height, and more.

Color handling - users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts and backgrounds, with over 7 different coloring options.

Content highlighting - users may elect to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements specifically.

Audio muting - users may mute the entire website instantly.

Access to lookups - we utilize a search engine linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary to ensure that users with cognitive orders can easily decipher the meanings of any content on the site.

Additional options - users may change cursor color and sizing, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and more.

Browser and Assistive Technology Compatibility

We aim to support the widest array of browsers as possible so our users can choose the best-fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we support most modern, major systems that comprise over 95% of users’ market share, including: Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and IE 11 and above, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers), both of Windows and Mac users. This website is operable using other platforms and systems as well, though performance will be optimized using one of the systems noted previously.

Feedback

Despite our best efforts to allow users to adjust the website to their needs, it is possible that there will still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or lack an adequate technical solution to make them accessible. The platform we use to maintain the site and facilitate accessibility is constantly improving its features and options. This is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility at any time and in accordance with technological advancements.
